Hello friend — thank you for being a loyal subscriber. Having you here in my community means a lot to me. I don’t take it lightly. I’ve started offering free subscriber gatherings to help us gather in community with others on my subscriber list. I’m excited to lead these gatherings and workshops.
I was delighted that six people attended my workshop earlier this month — "Becoming Resilient in Challenging Times.” It was good to hear from each participant as they shared their own stories of how they tapped into strength during hard times. NOTE: We have another workshop coming up on November 11. Please look at the bottom of the newsletter for information.
We have to dig deep now to stay in community (connection) and support each other as we go through change. If you have a higher power, now is the time to lean on your faith or spiritual practices.
Announcing! A New Name for this Newsletter
For the past two weeks, I’ve been working to refine the name of my newsletter. It doesn’t adequately express what I write about. I think the word “Awakening“ is too abstract for all that I write about.
The new name of my newsletter is High Road to Healing. Below is an image of the new newsletter heading so you’ll recognize it.
High Road to Healing represents a different view of healing - emotional and physical. It’s the opposite of being a victim. It’s taking back your power and making informed choices. The high road is the road of truth and integrity. The Higher Power, I call HP or God, gave us free will to make choices. Our lives move in the direction of the choices we make and the questions we ask ourselves.
I chose the high road during my near-death experience.
This is how I healed from the near-fatal car wreck in Baja, Mexico. In my NDE after the third of five surgeries within fifteen days, I heard a voice between worlds in the dark void that telepathically asked me:
“You get to choose how you go through this experience. What will you choose?”
I answered back telepathically: I don’t want to be a victim. I’ll choose the high road. I’ll use love and gratitude to heal. This is how I healed and survived.
What I’m ultimately talking about in all of my writings is consciousness. When we are conscious, we can make choices (free will) about what we're thinking about, what we’re doing, and whether it’s working for us.
The more conscious we become, the higher our energetic tone becomes.
I’m in a weekly study group that reads and discusses one of David Hawkins, MD, PhD's books. We recently finished reading Letting Go: The Pathway of Surrender. The more I understand Hawkins’ work and the Map of Consciousness, the more it makes sense to me, especially since I had a near-death experience (NDE) and went into a higher level of consciousness - 600.
On the Map of Consciousness, zero represents the energy and consciousness level of death; shame and guilt are in the twenties; courage is the dividing mark at 200 between positive and negative energetic tones. The lower the number, the denser the energy. The highest scale is at 1,000, where the Buddha was represented. Hawkins has written that the reason we have wars is that a great majority of people on the planet are below the level of 200.
My goal at this stage in my wisdom years is to share what I’ve learned the hard way so that, perhaps, you can learn from me and use what I share to make your load a little lighter.
I’m still working on my one-line description for the newsletter. Here’s my top three choices. I want to know your top choice!
Please review and hit reply, and let me know which one resonates the most with you. It’s important to me to hear from you!

Under The Road to Healing I like the third choice about gratitude the best. And I do like the new name because we are all on the road to healing, such in different locations.
