The Highest Vibration: Why Gratitude Changes Everything
Two simple words that hold the power to transform your entire existence.
Roses have the highest vibration (320 MHz) of flowers.
Above is a Caroline Victoria Coldicott memorial rose that I purchased from Jackson and Perkins. I have five of these in my yard, and it’s in the garden at Buckingham Palace!
"Thank you."
Last week, during a weekly meeting I attend, a woman in the group expressed her grief over slowly losing her partner to dementia. She was distraught and suffering. The next time I saw her at a meeting, she’d undergone a complete transformation. She was in acceptance and said she now lives one day at a time and is much happier.
After the meeting, I went up to her to congratulate her. We talked briefly, and I asked if she’d like to meet for coffee in a few weeks. When we met at a coffee shop, we shared our stories of what had happened in our lives. I told her,
“You inspire me because of the way you’ve accepted your situation.”
Both of us experienced gratitude for the opportunity to meet and offer support to each other. This is my life’s work. Each day, when I can, I do something for someone else, even if it's as simple as focusing on them at the checkout register and asking how they’re doing.
On David Hawkins' Map of Consciousness—his groundbreaking scale that measures the vibrational frequency of human emotions—gratitude sits near the very top at 900. That's higher than joy, higher than love, higher than peace. It's the closest we can get to source consciousness while still in human form.
I’ve written more about Hawkins’ scale of consciousness in The Hidden Energy Field That Controls Your Life and The Life-Changing Power of the David Hawkins Letting Go Process.
Why? ”
Why? Because gratitude is pure acceptance of what is.
When you feel truly grateful, you're not fighting reality. You're not wishing things were different. You're saying yes to life exactly as it shows up. And in that moment of complete acceptance, something extraordinary happens—you align with your soul's consciousness.
I've learned this the hard way. After my near-fatal accident, lying in that ICU bed, everything I thought mattered suddenly didn't. The career I'd built, the achievements I'd accumulated, the material things I’d accumulated, and the endless striving—none of it could help me breathe on my own or take another step.
But gratitude? Gratitude for each breath, each heartbeat, each care provider who walked in to take care of me, each moment of consciousness returning.
Gratitude became my lifeline back to wholeness. I used love and gratitude to heal.
Here's what Hawkins understood: when you vibrate at the frequency of gratitude, you're no longer operating from lack or fear.
You're not trying to get something from life—you're appreciating what life is already giving you.
That shift in consciousness creates a magnetic field for more blessings.
The energy of gratitude doesn't just make you feel good. It literally rewires your brain, opens your heart, and connects you to the creative force behind everything that exists. When you say "thank you" to the universe, you're acknowledging your place in the grand design. You're recognizing that you're not a victim of circumstances, but a participant in creation itself.
Start simple. Each morning or night before bed, write down three things you're grateful for.
Not the obvious stuff—dig deeper. Find gratitude in the struggles, the setbacks, the moments that initially feel like failures. Those are often carrying your greatest gifts.
Because here's the truth: gratitude isn't about pretending everything is perfect.
It's about recognizing that everything is sacred. Even the broken parts. Even the parts that hurt. Even the parts that don't make sense yet.
When you can find genuine appreciation for the full spectrum of your human experience, you're no longer at the mercy of external circumstances. You've accessed the highest vibration available to us—the frequency of the soul itself.
"Thank you" becomes your prayer, your practice, and your pathway home to who you really are.
And from that place? Everything changes.
About the Map of Consciousness
Dr. David Hawkins' Map of Consciousness is a precise conceptual framework that categorizes human consciousness into a scale ranging from lower to higher levels of awareness and emotional states. The scale is logarithmic, meaning that each level represents a significant leap in consciousness and awareness.
At the lower end of the scale, you find emotions and states such as shame, guilt, apathy, and fear.
Feelings of negativity, powerlessness, and a lack of joy characterize these lower states of consciousness.
As you move up the scale, you encounter states like courage, acceptance, love, joy, and peace, which represent higher levels of consciousness and awareness.
Hawkins suggests that most politicians tend to operate at the lower levels of consciousness, often influenced by fear, power dynamics, and a desire for control.
This can lead to decisions driven by personal gain or the interests of a select group rather than the well-being of the general population. Consequently, many politicians may embody qualities associated with lower consciousness, such as manipulation, deceit, or self-interest, which can contribute to societal issues and discontent.
Most of the population on earth is in the consciousness fields under 200. Hawkins has said, “This is why we have war.”
Hawkins' Map of Consciousness serves as a tool for understanding human behavior and motivations, encouraging us to strive for higher states of awareness and emotional health.
